Review Authenticity & Moderation Policy

After a purchase. Most reviews are written from a review request the store sends after an order: by email, from the customer's account page in the store, or from a QR code or link the customer receives with the order. Each request carries a signed link tied to that store and order.

On the store's website. Shoppers can also write a review from a product page without a request.

Imported reviews. A store may bring in reviews it collected earlier with another review provider. Stores may only import reviews of their own products written by their own customers, including customers who bought through other sales channels the store operates. Importing reviews of other sellers' products, or reviews copied from other websites, is not allowed.

A review shows a Verified buyer badge only when Superdesk can tie it to a real order from that store for that product: because it was written from a post-purchase request for that order, from the customer's own account, or because the reviewer's email matches an order for the product in the store's Shopify data. Stores cannot add the badge by hand. Imported reviews get the badge only when they match an order in the store's Shopify data.

Stores may thank customers for writing a review, for example with a discount on a future order. An incentive must never depend on the rating or on what the review says, and a store may give at most one review discount per order. When reviews are shared with Google, reviews that earned an incentive are marked as incentivized.

Stores can moderate reviews before or after they are published. A store may reject a review only for one of these reasons, which it selects when rejecting: spam; fake or fraudulent; offensive or abusive; contains personal information; off topic; duplicate; conflict of interest (for example written by an employee or a competitor); legal or compliance; other (with a note).

Stores must not hide or reject a review because it is negative. Stores can choose to approve low-rated reviews before they appear, but that check is for the reasons above, not for the rating. Stores may reply publicly to any review.

When a store turns on Google Shopping, Superdesk sends Google every eligible review for that store, including unpublished and low-rated reviews. Reviews rejected as spam, fake, offensive or for personal information are sent marked as spam. Hiding a review on the store's website does not remove it from Google. Imported reviews that do not match an order in the store's Shopify data are not sent. Microsoft Shopping receives the same reviews.

Review requests use signed links tied to a specific store and order. Review forms are protected against bots, and submissions are rate-limited. A website review gets the Verified buyer badge only after its email is matched to an order for that product in the store's Shopify data. Reviewers who earn an incentive receive at most one discount per order. We may remove reviews and suspend stores that post fake reviews, review their own products, or pay for positive reviews.

If you believe a review is fake, abusive or contains your personal information, write to trust@superdesk.com with a link to the review. We reply within 2 business days. Reviewers can edit or delete their own reviews from the link in their review emails.
